It's me, It's me, It's me, Oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer.....

The power of prayer is an amazing thing!  I am asking each of you who come across this blog to please pray for the following things!

1.  Back to School- Tomorrow if my first "official" workday.  The students return on the 26th.  I ask that you pray for the students who will be in my classroom.  I ask that you pray for me as a teacher, that I can change their lives!

2.  Playschool- The boys will start play school in just a couple of weeks.  While they will only go 3 days a week for a few hours, my heart breaks over this!  This is not something we had to do, but chose to do for them! I know they will get the hang of it and eventually love it, but those first few weeks are going to be hard.  Pray for them....that they have so much fun and learn about Jesus!  Pray for me and Kevin as we learn to let them go....just a little bit. Pray for me....momma's gonna be a basket case!

3.  My Dear Friend Amber- I have known Amber since playschool.  In fact, she made me fall over a tree stump and hurt my eye in playschool and I haven't let her live it down yet!  Amber and Brian are two wonderful, Christian people who have the most amazing faith I have encountered.  Amber and Brian have struggled with infertility.  I don't like to use the word struggle, because they have handled it with such grace.  But on the other hand, I use struggle, because it just isn't fair!  They are currently going through the process of Invitro.  I ask that you pray for them and this special life that just waits for them.  Both of them have put their complete trust in the Lord and have leaned on him through this entire process.  Please say a special prayer for them!

4.  My Sweet Paw-Paw- My paw paw had to be put in a rehab facility after a brief stay in the hospital due to a fall.  His first few days were rough and he still has rough times.  I took the boys to visit him and that lifted his spirits.  I ask that you pray for him to have peace and comfort while he is there.  I also ask that you pray for our family as decisions concerning him are made.

where has the time gone?

AMEN!!!!

A Firefighters Wife.....

This past week, Captain Benjamin Moore of the Charlotte Fire Department passed away.  While Kevin did not know him, and I did not know him, he was a part of our extended family.  That is what the fire department is, family.  His funeral service was taped and an email I received encouraged me to listen to the 32 minute mark of the service.  I did.  It was about being a firefighters wife, and how it is a calling to do so.  I believe that God has a calling for each of us in this life.  For Kevin a firefighter, for me a teacher and a firefighters wife.  I am guilty of giving Kevin a hard time about him having 24 hours at the station to have fun and get some sleep.  While I know that is not true everyday, he enters into harms way.  I am thankful for his duty and sacrifice.  I don't tell him that enough.  I am thankful that he has the courage to run into a burning building to sacrifice his own life to save others.  I am thankful that he took the time to receive training to do CPR to bring life back.  I am thankful for my firefighter.  Kevin has a servants heart, he is always doing for others before himself.

So, Kevin, when you click on our blog to see if I am sticking to my word to update it, I hope you know how much we 3 love you!  We are so thankful for you.  May God guide and protect you on any calls you may run! (I sound like I am saying the blessing at the 13 house!)

2 Year Old Doctor Visit

On Monday, July 29th, my mom and I took the boys to their 2 year old well check.  I have taken the boys by myself to some appointments, but am thankful that my mom came along for this one!  They don't mind stepping on the scale and being weighed, having their bellies and backs checked, but they do mind their ears and mouths!  We practically had to hold them down.  At this visit, they were given gowns to wear.........
Landon was excited to put it on, then changed his mind.  Maddox's gown was never unfolded!  Here are their latest stats.....
Maddox: 30lbs, 2 oz, 36 inches tall
Landon: 29lbs, 8 oz, 36.75 inches tall

I have been working on uploading pictures from my iphone to clear up some memory space, I thought I would share some of my favorites.....enjoy!

Since this blog is documenting family fun and memories...I must share 2 things that happened this week...
1.  This past Sunday, I went to visit my Paw Paw and Kevin put the boys down for nap.  I receive a text that they had "powdered their room." The boys climbed out of their cribs and got into the baby powder and had a blast.  The first thing I asked was "did you take a picture?" ...of course he didn't!

2.  We have been reading the boys bible with them and talking to them about Jesus.  When they want their bible they ask for "my Jesus!" We have told them that Jesus lives in their hearts.  Tonight while watching tv, I randomly asked them, "who lives in your heart?" Maddox replied loudly....JESUS and Landon followed with Sesus!!

Beach Bums

Normally, we take our annual family beach trip in June.  This year, we had to wait....but it was worth it!  We were expecting our new nephew to arrive during our first beach trip, so we scheduled it for July and he got to come along!  We had a blast!  We usually stay at Myrtle Beach Travel Park, but they were all booked, so we stayed at Ocean Lakes Campground.  This campground is huge and full of golf carts!  Each day the boys looked forward to riding the golf cart and cruising the golf cart strip.  During our trip we visited Family Kingdom..twice, ate at Nance's Fishcamp in Murrels Inlet, made a Krispy Kreme run, made nightly ice cream runs on the golf cart, stayed on the beach all day, and rode in the golf cart some more!  We decided to take the boys pak-n-plays to let them sleep in.  Our very first night, we took a ride on the golf cart and they caught a 20 minute nap.  We came in, got them ready for bed and put them down.  Crystal, Kevin and I were sitting in the living room watching tv when Landon appears around the kitchen corner while Maddox is yelling "get me out! We put Landon back in his bed and all was quiet.  I went in the other bedroom to check things out and they had climbed out quietly and were both sitting on the floor playing with their trains.  After repeating this process several times, we adults put ourselves to bed hoping that they to would go to bed.  At 1:30 am, they climbed out, headed to the living room and played with their trains.  Let's just say at 6:45, they were saying "I ride golf cart!" From that moment on, we barricaded them in their pak-n-plays!  Here are some pictures from our trip....

Happy 2nd Birthday

I can't believe our boys are 2!  Time sure has flown by.  This year, the theme for their party was Thing 1 and Thing 2.  I had a lot of fun planning, creating and crafting.  Here are some pictures before the party got started....
The boys each had a Dr. Seuss book for their guests to sign.  I can't wait until they are old enough to read the sweet messages!

The boys had so many family and friends come out to celebrate with them!  Some could not make it, but were thinking of them on their special day!  My brother, his wife and their little boy were able to celebrate with us too!  We had a blast!  Here are some party pictures

Happy 2nd Birthday boys!  You are loved by so many people!  Your dad and I are so proud of the boys you are becoming!  You both have giving hearts and contagious laughs!  We love you!

Summer Happenings

It has been far too long since I have blogged!  Thanks to a twin mom friend (Jen), I am getting back to it!  I am going to do my best to post something each week.  I will catch up the blog over the next few months, but for now, I am going to start with the summer! Our summer has been busy.  We have welcomed a new nephew, visited Tweetsie and Lazy 5 Ranch, celebrated the boys 2nd birthday and took a trip to the beach.  Here a few pictures of Jack, Lazy 5 and Tweetsie......
